Shruti Box (Surpeti) – Teak Recon
● A Shruti Box (Sruti Box or Surpeti) is an instrument that traditionally works on a system of bellows. It is a keyless version of the harmonium and is used to provide a drone in practice sessions or during Classical Concerts. It is used as a drone to accompany many other instruments as well as by vocalists.
The instrument had stopped on one side of the box for controlling the pitch and bellows on the other side to pump in air while playing.
Its portability and ease of use have made the instrument popular across the globe. Traditional and contemporary musicians in the West are also using it for a range of different styles.
● Our Shruti Boxes come in 2 sizes (Big & Small) and three color options – Red, Wenge & Teak Recon.
● Tuning Range – C to C
● Dimensions (small) – 5cm x 22cm x 30cm
